Welcome to Heath hypnobirthing and doula services
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
I’m Alex Heath; mum, hypnotherapist, antenatal teacher and doula and, as anyone who knows me will tell you, I love all things pregnancy and birth!
I passionately believe that the way we birth (and the care we receive directly afterwards) has an effect on our own and our family’s emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing, potentially for years and even generations afterwards.
The way we birth has a profound and lasting effect on us for good or bad, it's seismic.
And I know that sharing hypnosis and mindfulness techniques and building confidence in birth as a normal physiological process is the best way to empower mums and dads who want to own their birth experience.
I have also witnessed first hand as a doula the difference that the presence of a calm, confident doula can make to the birth experience of both mums and dads.
I have taught hypnosis for birth for 6 years and have been a birth doula for 2 years. I have been privileged to accompany hundreds of parents on their journey through to parenthood. Click here to read what they said about their birth experience.
What is doula?
The original translation from Greek means ‘a woman who serves’ and the concept of a doula is as old as mankind. The modern day meaning for a doula is someone who provides support and comfort, emotionally and physically, to women in labour and through to the early days of parenthood. There are both Birth doulas and Postnatal doulas and some doulas who provide both services.
I am a Birth doula and accompany mums and dads through labour and birth.
As a doula I can advocate for you (if you give me your permission), help you find comfort, provide you with alternative suggestions, use hypnosis (with your permission), help you maintain a positive mindset, believe in your birthing power and encourage you to believe in yourself. I can help dads feel confident and at ease with the birthing process . I can stay with you after birth until you feel comfortable and settled with your new baby.
All of my doula packages include antenatal preparation, which can include hypnobirthing if you wish.
What areas and hospitals do you cover?
As a birth doula I cover West London and surrounding areas, including Ealing, Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington, Isleworth, Hounslow and Brentford. Please click here to find out how I can support you during your birth.
I have experience working as a doula at the following West London hospitals: Queen Charlottes Maternity hospital, Chelsea & Westminster, Kingston, West Middlesex and St Peters hospitals.
