Welcome to Heath Hypnotherapy West London and congratulations on finding HypnoBirthing® classes
My name is Alex Heath and I had such an amazing experience using hypnobirth techniques for the birth of my son 8 years ago that it inspired me to find out more about hypnosis and retrain as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
You’ve probably found this page because you are interested in learning more about this powerful program that enables women world wide to have calm and comfortable natural births.
Here are some of the common questions mums ask about the course:
Is HypnoBirthing for me?
If you are considering a calm, comfortable, easier and natural birth then yes. People often assume that HypnoBirth is an ‘alternative’ antenatal method but actually it is a common sense method and is so effective that it is currently being trialled by the NHS.
Can HypnoBirthing really help in labour?Read about Helen and Dominic's recent experience using the techniques with the birth of their first baby Catriona Mae.
'The labour and birth went pretty well and I don't think this would have been possible without the skills we developed through hypnobirthing.
I went into labour around 5am on Thursday morning. I listened to the Rainbow Relaxation CD on my iPod while wondering if this really was the start and tried not to wake Dominic. On Thursday I just went out shopping and did some jobs around the house. The labour progressed after our evening meal. It sort of becomes a bit of a blur then, I remember putting on the Rainbow Relaxation CD and I did the 4 and 8 breathing with Dominic.
Dominic did progressive relaxation with me and the thermometer.' Read more here
Does HypnoBirthing mean a pain free birth?
Not necessarily, but the course aims to empower mums and dads with techniques that if practiced daily can make natural birth an easier and enjoyable experience.
Will hypnosis during birth mean that I am out of control?
Peoples experience and knowledge of hypnosis is often informed by what they may have seen on TV or stage and because of this they can be concerned they they will act strangely or against their will. Self hypnosis techniques are nothing like this. When practiced and mastered they can empower a person to control different systems within the body from relaxation levels to blood pressure. In this sense hypnosis is an incredibly empowering technique for those who practice it. It is often assumed that under hypnosis people lose consciousness however this is not the case (although people often appear ‘out of it’) and it is always possible for a person to break their hypnotic state whenever they chose.
What is the best time to take a HypnoBirthing course?
There is no ‘best time’ as the benefits will be felt at anytime during pregnancy. However at 28 weeks there is plenty of time to take the 5 week course and also have time to practice the hypnobirth techniques afterwards too.
What is the difference in a 2 day intensive Hypnobirth course and a 5 week HypnoBirthing course?
The Marie Mongan Method that I teach is only available as a 5 week course. The reason for this is because the hypnobirth techniques can take a while to learn and bed in. A 5 week course allows time for practice and feedback in between the weeks so I am able to be sure that mums feel really confident about what they have learnt and how to apply that to their birth experience.
Where and when does the course take place?
I currently offer a Saturday morning course with sessions that are spread out over 5 weeks.
These sessions are held at a private residence in Hounslow, West London in a purpose built therapy studio every Saturday morning from 10am to 12.30pm.
This venue is close to Twickenham Rugby ground and is walking distance from both Whitton and Hounslow BR Stations. There is plenty of free parking outside for anyone driving. Click here for a map of where we are.
Group classes in Ealing are no longer available but this area is still served for private classes.
How much is the course?
The group course fee is £295 and the private class fee is £395.
The course includes the official Marie Mongan HypnoBirthing® book, Rainbow Relaxation CD and all course materials.
Telephone support and additional sessions are always available for those who need it.
